Prof. Victor Adetula Ph.D

Chairman

Victor Adetula is a Professor of International Relations & Development Studies, and Development Consultant. He was most recently Director and Head of Research at the Nordic Africa Institute, Uppsala-Sweden. He has over three decades of working experience in academic and policy research, research administration & management, fundraising, and resource mobilisation, organisational development as well as demonstrated leadership in international development programme design, implementation, and evaluation. Professor Adetula was formerly Claude Ake Visiting Professor in the Department of Peace & Conflict Research, University of Uppsala, Sweden (2013), Professor & Head of Africa & Regional Integration Unit at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Lagos (2012), Nelson Mandela Visiting Professor of African Studies at the Centre for International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi (2011), Head, Department of Political Science (2006-2008), University of Jos, and Director, Centre for Development Studies (1998-2001, University of Jos. Between 2006 and 2008, he was an elected member of the Governing Council of the University of Jos.

PROFESSOR ADEDEJI ADEKUNLE SAN

Adedeji served the Federal Government in various capacities as Delegate to various Special/Expert Working Groups/Committees & Commissions and Senior Special Assistant to the Hon. Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice advising on various aspects of law and policy. He has served as secretary of the law Revision Committee and has also consulted for several International Organisations, Including the United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). He occupied the Akinola Aguda Distinguished Chair as Professor of law in the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS) and was Director General of NIALS from May 2014 and until 2019 when his term ended. He is currently in charge of Projects at the Juritrust Centre for Socio Legal Research and Documentation.

JAIYEBO, Olugbemi

Olugbemi is a Senior Attorney in the Benitez Law Firm, a full service law office based in White Plains, New York. He was enrolled as a solicitor and advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1985, admitted to practice law in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Appellate Division First Department in 2000 and to the United States District Court, Southern District of New York in 2004. His law practice experience includes defending clients in the United States Federal Courts in Louisiana, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. He also has an extensive litigation practice in the courts of the State of New York. He consults for and defends clients in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Criminal Division and engages in appellate practice in criminal juvenile matters. Mr. Jaiyebo brings his decade long experience of teaching and research at the Obafemi Awolowo University, the University of Lagos and Columbia University in the City of New York to bear on his brief writing and courtroom advocacy.

Maryam Titi Kawu

Maryam Kawu, a Judicial Educator, is the immediate past Director of Studies at the National Judicial Institute. The National Judicial Institute is the statutory body saddled with the role of continuing Judicial Education for Judicial Officers and their support staff. As Director of Studies she was responsible among other things, for organizing and conducting the courses undertaken by the Institute as well as the collation and publication of course materials. While resident in the United States, she was a Criminal Case Investigator in the Minneapolis City Attorney's Office for Ten (10) years. Prior to that, she was Supervisor of the Crime Victim Liaison Programme in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States of America - a position that enabled her supervise the enforcement of the US Crime Victims Act. Maryam started her career as a State Counsel II in the Kwara State Ministry of Justice and progressed to become the Deputy Director of Public

JODA OLUWATOBI AYOBAMI

Tobi holds a degree in Fine Arts from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. As part of his course work, Tobi offered courses in graphic production and printing. He had his youth service experience between 2013 and 2014, as a youth corps member. He presently works as a print production artist, and render services to organizations as Juritrust Centre for Socio-Legal Research and Documentation (Project Monitoring and Administration), British Broadcasting Cooperation (BBC), Law Firm of Okey Obi Dike, Federal Capital Territory Administration, etc. He has garnered skills in management, administration, project design and development, supervision, training and monitoring as well as first hand practical knowledge and rudiments in print production and design management.
