Event Overview
Juritrust Centre for Socio-Legal Research and Documentation, in partnership with the Centre for Education, Health and Entrepreneurship Development (CEHED), is hosting a specialized virtual training workshop titled “Advancing Legal Aid and Access to Justice for Vulnerable Persons.”
This initiative is part of the broader collaborative project officially titled “Supporting Public Education on the Criminal Justice Sector for Vulnerable Communities in the Three Senatorial Zones of Kano State.” The program is designed to tackle systemic injustices and rights denials experienced by vulnerable populations across the region.
Key Training Objectives
- Empowering Frontline Advocates: Equipping dedicated community volunteers across Kano’s three senatorial zones with the essential capacity to manage community-based law clinics and champion human rights for vulnerable individuals.
- Establishing Rights Desks: Enhancing grassroots legal literacy, setting up community-based “Rights Desks,” and facilitating access to justice.
- Protecting Due Process: Empowering advocates and volunteers to actively protect fundamental human rights, promote due process, and foster equitable justice outcomes at the community level.
